An Al Qaeda supergrass who was secretly released early from a British prison in return for giving evidence in other terror cases admitted to a New York court Wednesday that he knew nothing about the alleged bomber against whom he is testifying.

Giving evidence via a pre-taped video recording played in a US federal court in Brooklyn, Briton Saajid Badat admitted he had met Osama bin Laden several times as he made his first public appearance since being jailed for 13 years for plotting to blow up a transatlantic jet.
