Snow, sleet, rain and gale-force winds forecast at the weekend

If you thought the Easter weekend was a washout - watch out... the worst is yet to come.

As Britain dries off following one of the wettest bank holiday weekends on record, much of the country is bracing itself for another onslaught of wintery weather.

Snow hit the north yesterday and meteorologists warn there's more to come - we're set for another two weeks of terrible weather across the whole UK.

County Durham was treated to a fresh blast of snow on Tuesday, as temperatures continued to drop across the country - following the already chilly Easter Weekend.
