Russian president issues warning after wave of copycat teen suicides set off by two 14-year-old girls sweeps country

Russia's president Dmitri Medvedev has issued a stark warning over a wave of copycat teenage suicides that has swept the country.

Mr Medvedev told media outlets not to make too much of the series of deaths which were set off in February when two 14-year-old girls jumped hand-in-hand from a Moscow apartment block.

Since then a series of apartment jumps have attracted national attention and fuelled social networking sites.

In the last week there have been at least 10 more cases, including a boy, 11, found hanging under the roof of his house in Krasnodar.

Also, over one 24-hour period, starting on April 9, there were at least six deaths. Read More
