US Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has pulled out of the race for the White House, clearing the way for Mitt Romney to become the nominee.Mr Santorum is holding a press conference in his home state of Pennsylvania.
It comes just two weeks before the Republican presidential primary in the state, where Mr Santorum faced a tough fight against the front runner.
The conservative former senator has been lagging Mr Romney in opinion polls and in the fight for the 1,144 party delegates needed to win the nomination to face President Barack Obama in the November 6 general election.
