This opinion of view was expressed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during his speech in the Duma on April 11, where he presented a report on the work of the Russian government in 2011.Vladimir Putin considers the formation of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the most important geopolitical event of the former Soviet Union since its collapse. The head of the Russian government pointed out that the removal of border barriers within the CES in 2011 had increased the mutual trade turnover of the three countries by 37%, while for the first two months of 2012 - by 13%.
