Hammad Memon who 'Killed classmate' arrested with mother after jumping bail with Pakistani passport and 'loads of cash'

An Alabama teenager accused of killing his middle school classmate was arrested in Texas, Friday after jumping bail with his mother and fleeing with Pakistani passports.

Hammad Memon, 16, and his mother, Safia Memon, were arrested just before 6.30 pm in Dallas, said Madison police Lt. John Stringer after his mother's cellphone was used to track them down.

The teenager is accused of the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Todd Brown at Discovery Middle School in February of 2010 in Madison, Ala. Hammad was 14 at the time of the shooting.

He was out of jail, having been released to his parents' custody on a $75,000 bond in October 2010. He faced trial as an adult on June 18.

'There is no question in my mind they were fleeing and planning on leaving the country,' Madison County Prosecutor Tim Gann told AL.com. 'After all the evidence that has been uncovered there is no question. I think they were looking to get on an airplane back to Pakistan.' Read More
