A man who shot dead a black teenager in a case that has caused outrage in the US has been charged with second-degree murder.Florida state prosecutor Angela Corey confirmed George Zimmerman, 28, has been charged over 17-year-old Trayvon Martin's killing.
She revealed that Zimmerman is in police custody, at an undisclosed location somewhere in the state, after he handed himself in.
However, the John E. Polk correctional facility in Sanford later published the booking mugshot of Zimmerman and said he was arrested by Seminole County sheriffs.
The killing sparked national uproar in the US after it emerged that Trayvon had been unarmed when Zimmerman shot him dead. Read More
