
Eric Lederman, of Illinois, was struck while warming up with a teammate on Wednesday night ahead of an Oswego Softball and Baseball Association league game in Wheaton.
He was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, then airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead just after 8pm on Thursday.
His sudden death has devastated the close-knit community in which he lived, leaving residents in shock.
