Ched Evans Jailed for 5 Years for the Rape of Teen In Hotel

Sheffield United and Wales striker Ched Evans has been found guilty of raping a woman who was "too drunk to consent" - and jailed for five years.

Evans' legal team issued a statement immediately after the verdict repeating his claim of innocence and hinting at an appeal, while Sheffield United said it would respond to the sentence only after it had "taken sufficient time to consider the matter fully".

McDonald had hugged a sobbing Evans after receiving his not guilty verdict, which saw court briefly adjourned due to McDonald's supporters cheering in the public gallery. Read More
