Eight people including the driver of a car died and several others were injured after the vehicle rammed into pedestrians on a street here on April 12.
Kyoto Fire Department officials said the car hit several pedestrians in succession near an intersection in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward at around 1:10 p.m. on April 12 before crashing into a power pole. Officials said five women and three men including the 30-year-old driver of the vehicle, identified as a resident of Kyoto's Nishikyo Ward, died, while nine others were injured. Read More
