Air traffic controller didn't believe emergency landing request

An air traffic controller failed to process an emergency landing request because he thought it was a hoax.

The pilot of a plane trying to land at a snow-covered Denver International Airport in the US called for help when the aircraft started to fill up with smoke - but his demand was dismissed.

Following the request, the controller said to his colleague: ''Did you hear that? I know that's BS. I know it is.

''If you probably heard there, that's not real what we're hearing on the frequency.''

Fortunately for the controller, the pilot managed to land and evacuate the plane safely despite not having any assistance. Source
